A survey has shown that a majority of the UK support a ban on hunting and think the current Hunting Act should be kept.
This press release announcing a 2007 Ipsos-Mori poll sponsored by the International Fund for Animal Welfare shows continued public support of the ban on hunting in the United Kingdom (UK). An estimated three times as many respondents reportedly favor leaving the UK Hunting Act in place.
In this survey, 58% of respondents support leaving the UK ban on hunting in place, while 17% advocate the repeal of the Hunting Act. Of this 17%, 9% “strongly support the ban being scrapped,” and 8% “tended to” support the ban being scrapped. 25% were “neutral” or “did not know.”
