Animal Agriculture Alliance Report: Animal Rights 2013 National Conference
This report summarizes a large portion of the 2013 Animal Rights Conference presentations, concluding with what the Animal Agriculture Alliance perceives to be the movement’s main strategies, target demographics, future goals, and impact.
[Abstract excerpted from original source.]“The Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) held its 32nd annual Animal Rights National Conference in Alexandria, VA this June 2013. About 1,500 people, many from foreign countries including; Brazil, Canada, India and Europe, attended the four-day conference, themed “Get Informed. Get Inspired. Get Active.” The event was co-sponsored by fifteen different organizations and was chaired by Alex Hershaft of FARM. Ages varied among attendees but many were young (50 and younger) and female. The Animal Agriculture Alliance sent several staff members to the conference and this is their report on the activities, goals and initiatives promoted by the groups and individuals present.”
