This poll examined restaurant-goers attitudes towards vegetarian meals and vegetarian menus in restaurants.
Poll asks “restaurant-goers” if they are likely to look for a restaurant that serves vegetarian food. Also asks about their primary reason(s) for seeking out a vegetarian meal.
Gallup study shows that 20% of restaurant goers are likely to look for places that serve vegetarian food.
One third or more restaurant goers are likely to order vegetarian items.
As a result of this study, the National Restaurant Association has advised members to include vegetarian main meals or sections to their menus.
88% stated the reason for choosing vegetarian meals was health, while 86% cited taste, 39% cited ethics, and 22% cited religion.
