Even during a faltering economy, consumers are continually eating out at restaurants at the same frequency, but price remains the most important factor when eating out.
Value remains a top factor in deciding where to dine out, according to the results of a Harris Interactive Survey conducted on behalf of Dairy Queen. This poll was conducted to determine the impact that a depressed economy is having on consumers.
Survey results show that when eating out, 89% of consumers take advantage of discounts including value meals, coupons, and membership programs; 46% of U.S. adults are eating out at restaurants with about the same frequency, or more, as they did one year ago. 71% said that price and menu variety are the most important factors in determining choice of restaurant.
