Profile Of U.S. Cattlemen
This survey found that the average cattleman is 61 years old and 1.5 times more likely than the average U.S. adult to be married. 31% of cattlemen have a college degree or higher, with 15% holding a doctorate, compared with 10% nationally. Most cattlemen have small- to medium-sized operations, as defined by the author as being under 250 head of cattle, with older cattlemen more likely to have larger operations.
