An article profiling the North American Trapper
The demographic profile of the typical North American trapper is a Caucasian, male, a non-farming rural resident of the northern Midwest with a high school education, typically a laid off or retired blue collar worker whose job skills are obsolete.
Three-fourths of all North American trappers fit major portions of this profile, 93% are male and 95% are Caucasian. Native trappers make up less than 6% of the Canadian total and less than 1% of the North American total.
In the U.S. and Canada, 26% of trappers are under 25 years of age, 26% are between 26-54, and 47% are 55 or older.
