Beef Checkoff Receives Clean Bill Of Health
Conducted by the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, this survey asks cattle producers about the checkoff program; approval rates have ranged between 68-73% over the last five years and above 60% over the last decade.
According to the results of this survey, 87% of the cattle farmers surveyed had heard of the beef checkoff program, and 68% considered themselves somewhat or very well informed.
9 out of 10 cattlemen have favorable attitudes toward the beef checkoff program; approval has ranged between 68- 73% since 2002. During the last 10 years, approval ratings have been 60% or more.
Support of the checkoff program has been steady despite changing economic conditions or extensive news coverage. It was found that when producers are “very well informed” about checkoff activities, they are more likely to report a higher approval.
