Companion Animals On Beds Trend Suggested By ICM Poll
Research sponsored by John Lewis Insurance provides evidence that more and more British companion animal owners are allowing their companions to sleep on their beds; women (27%) are more likely than men (22%) to engage in this behavior despite warnings of health implications by experts.
Overall, 24% of people in the United Kingdom say they rarely allow their companion animals to sleep on their bed, while 16% allow it all of the time, and 51% never allow it. A small number (4%) of companion animal owners say their companion animal wears pajamas to bed, most frequently noted by respondents between 25 and 34 years old.
Experts warn that companion animals can bring in numerous forms of bacteria from the outside, while hair and dander can also contribute to asthma.
