A short poll regarding U.S. companion animal guardianship.

60% of Americans own a companion animal, with 44% owning a dog and 29% a cat.

Respondents were more likely to describe themselves as a “dog person” as opposed to a “cat person” even if they own both.

Most companion animal owners have given companion animals as Christmas presents.
