Psychological Study of Veg Ethics Still Has A Long Way to Go
This literature review examines a range of contemporary social psychology studies relating to food, and specifically explores aspects of ethical vegetarianism. The authors reviewed a wealth of studies related to veg*nism and found that, as a relatively new “area of interest,” the study of veg psychology is still “limited in scope,” with plenty of potentially “interesting research directions, original perspectives, and intriguing hypotheses.” The review pays special attention to the study of meat-eating and gender, and finds that most of the published research is qualitative, and “results seem contradicting.” This full text article could be of use to advocates who wish to peruse a review of current veg psychology, and explore the citations for further reading.
