Veterinarian New Media Usage Study

Veterinarians are using new media tools to assist in their work with 20% of animal veterinarians having twitter and 70% of small veterinarians having websites.
The results of this 2009 study the use of new and social media among U.S. veterinarians finds that more than half of small animal veterinarians and about three-quarters of large animal veterinarians have sent or received text messages for business reasons over the last year.
According to these findings, veterinarians are using new media tools to better communicate with their staff and customers. In particular:
- 91% of small animal veterinarians and 92% of large animals visit animal health websites.
- 70% of small animal and 43% of large animal veterinarians have websites related to their practice.
- 20% of both groups have accounts on Twitter.
