Survey Shows Texans Strongly Oppose Horse Slaughter
According to this 2003 poll, sponsored by Blue Horse Charities, 77% of Texans oppose the legalization of horse slaughter and the foreign export of horsemeat for human consumption. The survey also revealed that most Texans (89%) were previously unaware that horse slaughter operations exist in their state.
According to this survey, 89% of Texans are unaware that horses are slaughtered in their state (for human consumption). The majority (72%) are opposed to this practice, and slightly more (77%) are opposed to changing state law to permit this practice. 63% consider themselves “strongly opposed” to this practice.
