Holiday Habits Of Companion Animal Gifts
A majority (61%) of British Columbian companion animal owners planned to buy their companion animal gifts during the 2007 holiday season, according to this Ipsos Reid survey. Other companion animal holiday practices are also covered in this survey summary.
61% of companion animal owners in British Columbia planned to buy a holiday present for their companion animal, including 68% of dog owners, 61% of cat owners, and 54% of other companion animal owners. Women companion animal owners (65%) are more likely than men (53%) plan to buy a gift for their companion animal.
The average amount being spent on holiday companion animal gifts is $30, though intended holiday spending is slightly higher among dog owners ($35) than cat owners ($29).
