Chicken Comes Out On Top
A survey by the Australian Chicken Meat Federation (ACMF) finds that 53% of Australian consumers consider chicken to be the healthiest type of meat when compared with beef, pork, and lamb.
The majority of Australian consumers believe that chicken is the healthiest type of animal flesh; nearly 60% also consider it to be the best value for money when it comes to purchasing options for meat protein.
Furthermore, according to this report, chickens farmed for flesh in Australia are not kept in cages, nor are growth hormones or steroids used. However, 78.6% of Australian consumers wrongly believe that chickens killed for meat are fed hormones or steroids. A majority of chicken flesh sold in the country is locally produced.
