Americans Would Support Laws Banning The Trapping Of Wild Animals
Attitudes about trapping and support for potential laws banning it, including differences by political affiliation, religion, and geography.
62% of Americans would support a ban on trapping while 25% would be opposed. Those supportive of the ban include 54% of Republicans, 64% of likely votes and 595 of men.
66% of Americans feel that trapping is cruel and by this method, animals suffer long and painful deaths; 20% feel differently, i.e. trapping is a quick and painless way to kill the animals. 3. In sum, this survey shows that in general, Americans view the trapping of animals as unnecessary and cruel.”
