Ads To Counter Tide Of Sympathy For Animal Rights
This survey asked respondents if they believe that animal husbandry practices in the U.S. are cruel (25% said “yes”), as well as other questions. Based on this Animal Industry Foundation (AIF) survey conducted in 1989 concerning public opinion about American farmers and ranchers, the AIF has budged $75,000-$100,000 to run ads intended to counter a rising tide of sympathy for the animal rights agenda.
These ads will run in newspapers and on the radio in six major US cities after January 1, 1991. The AIF poll showed that 25% of US consumers believe that animal husbandry practices are cruel, and in general, the poll shows that more people are sympathetic to the animal rights movement than previously. The poll showed that now twice as many people were now aware of the animal rights movement than when the poll was last conducted.
