Ranchers Prosper By Ignoring Factory-Farm Model
The demand for “naturally raised” meat created by consumers who are opposed to factory farm models is leading to growth in fast food products from animals who were raised in traditional pastures, without antibiotics or hormones.
Fast food outlets such as hot dog stands that offer grass-fed and other naturally raised meats are proliferating in response to consumers who are opposed to the factory farm model. Consumers pay more for these naturally raised items, but they feel better health is associated with the environment and corporate responsibility.
