We Couldn’t Do It Without Our Volunteers
Faunalytics may be a small organization, with only three paid staff, but we do our best to make every day, hour, and minute of our time count for animals. We provide animal advocates with useful research and actionable data to help animals effectively. Taking on this ambitious task would be impossible without the help of our many wonderful volunteers.
Last year, Faunalytics wrote more than 200 library items, 50 blogs, hundreds of social media posts, and countless responses to reader questions. We also plan and conduct several independent studies every year. To maintain this high level of output for animals and advocates, we work with dozens of talented and committed volunteers.
April is National Volunteer Month in the U.S. and we would be remiss to let the month pass without acknowledging that volunteers make Faunalytics happen. Our unpaid workers write study summaries for our Research Library, edit those summaries, help us to update our archive of thousands of articles, design graphics, and so much more.
We have had volunteer statisticians help analyze study results and social scientists assist in designing new studies. We work with volunteer developers to keep our website running smoothly and social media consultants to increase our reach. While the paid staff at Faunalytics works hard to coordinate all of the various moving parts of the organization, our volunteers help boost our productivity far beyond what three people can do.
We would also like to acknowledge our volunteer board members. These are animal advocacy veterans whose experience and knowledge help Faunalytics focus on effective projects and programs. Volunteer directors Caryn Ginsberg, Anthony Bellotti, Sharie Lesniak, and Mandy Weeks provide guidance and leadership to help Faunalytics succeed.
As a way of saying thank you, we’d like to highlight our currently active volunteers, along with little bit about their background. Of course, there are many more past volunteers and undoubtedly a few people we missed. To each and every one of you, thank you! Faunalytics would never be able to accomplish what we do for animals without your support. We look forward to working with you in the months and years to come!
