College Students Want Healthier Campus Dining Programs
A recent report of college students by Technomic evaluates trends in campus food services. The full report investigates a wide variety of food behavior, preferences, and trends on college campuses. There is some data addressing meat consumption and vegetarian and vegan diets.
Among other findings, the report notes that food choices are important to this demographic, with campus food options considered at least “somewhat important” in for 44% of college student respondents. Further, 1 in 5 students indicate that they limit their consumption of animal products by either avoiding certain meat products or by maintaining a vegetarian or vegan diet.
