According to an online survey of 3,700 respondents, the top comfort food choices among consumers are sweets and entrees including meat. Those from Generation Y tend to associate more healthful foods as comfort foods, in comparison with older age groups.
Baby Boomers are particularly drawn to classic comfort foods, which for many include braised meats and casseroles. Generation Xers tend to consider comfort food as “fast foods,” including hamburgers and burritos. Generation Yers tends to consider healthful foods among their favorite comfort foods.
