Most Will Spend Anything To Save Their Animal’s Life
Based on a survey of companion animal insurance policy holders and website visitors, 70% say they would pay any amount to save their companion animal’s life. This is consistent with other survey findings also mentioned in the article.
More than two-thirds (70%) of those surveyed said they would pay any amount to save their companion animal’s life. On the other hand, 3% said they would pay up to $500, 10% say they would pay up to $1,000, and 17% would pay up to $5,000 to save their companion animal life. The survey is based on a self-selected sample and may not be representative of all people with companion animals.
In other surveys, including the 2002 American Animal Hospital Association Pet Owner Survey, about half of companion animal owners surveyed said they would spend any amount to save their companion animal’s life. The following year, in this same survey, 73% of companion animal owners said they would go into debt to extend their companion animal’s life.
