Faunalytics leads the way for other animal advocates by helping answer the most critical questions on the most important topics.
At Faunalytics, most of our time is spent helping our clients and individual advocates use research to improve their work for animals. But we also carry out independent research on topics that we think are of great importance to the animal protection movement.
Here are descriptions and links for each of our major independent studies.
Animal Tracker
The Faunalytics Animal Tracker is an annual survey of U.S. adults’ attitudes and behavior with respect to animals and animal advocates. It is the only longitudinal survey dedicated to animal protection issues. The first survey was conducted in 2008 and included 15 core questions; a subset of five questions have been asked every year since. See below for how to access the results.
- Graphing Tool: All results from all years of the Animal Tracker provided in a wonderful and flexible graphical interface (developed by Animal Visuals). Check out the tool.
- Full Reports: The detailed reports for the Animal Tracker can be found in our research library for all years: 2018 | 2017 | 2016 | 2015 | 2014 | 2013 | 2012 | 2011 | 2010 | 2009 | 2008

Lapsed and Current Vegetarians/Vegans
In late 2014, Faunalytics completed a very comprehensive study of former and current vegetarians and vegans. Results were drawn from a representative sample of more than 11,000 adults in the U.S. and showed that approximately 4 in 5 vegetarians resume eating meat at some point. The findings have important implications for animal and vegetarian/vegan advocates.

Semi-Vegetarianism and Meat Reduction
In a study published in 2007, Faunalytics conducted in-depth research on the meat consumption habits of U.S. adults. We focused on profiling different types of consumers, including semi-vegetarians, as well as exploring meat reduction and the motivations for encouraging meat reduction. Although a bit older, the study still holds many important findings for animal and vegetarian/vegan advocates.
