Humane Slaughter Agenda
This brief survey showed that the majority of Americans feel that the Humane Slaughter Law should also cover birds such as ducks, turkey and chicken.
81% of those polled felt that Humane Slaughter legislation should also include chicken, turkey and ducks; 19% disagreed.
Of those who disagreed, 15% disagreed because they felt that animals were meant for human consumption, therefore it was irrelevant how they were killed. Some of the other significant reasons were “It should cover everything, slaughtering any animal is inhumane” (12%), No particular reason, they are just birds (12%), It’s not necessary, we’ve always done it this way in the past (8%), I don’t care at all (7%), Too many regulations already, the government is already involved in everything (6%).
