Food Habits Of Young Swedish And Norwegian Vegetarians And Omnivores
Catalogs the food habits of a large number of Swedish youth, with focus on the number of vegetarians and vegans and their unique dietary habits.
This cross sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of vegetarianism and identify food habits among youth in Norway and Sweden.
Vegetarians generally wanted more information about a healthy diet and vegetarian females ate more dietary supplements than omnivore females.
Young male vegetarians, although excluded meat products from their diets, ate with the same frequency and quantity. Females, however, ate more vegetables and took more dietary supplements.
No differences between vegetarians and omnivores were noted with respect to alcohol, sweets, fats, or fruits and berries.
