Young adults increasingly want to receive more information about buying meat and many lack knowledge on how to prepare meat.
According to this survey, young adults are interested in learning more about various cuts of meat and how to prepare it. This survey is of interest to animal advocates as it addresses how young adults get most of their information about meat and their level of knowledge about food preparation.
Sixty percent of 18-24 year olds surveyed indicated they would like more information when buying meat. Most respondents lacked knowledge about how to prepare food and received the information they have about meat and how to prepare it from family, packaging, in-store leaflets or the internet. Also of note, is that this survey indicated that beef and lamb is of particular interest to young adults.
