Ukraine Sees an Increase In Poultry Meat Production

The increasing demand in Asia for meat has led Ukraine to increase their poultry production by 9% in 2010.
According to statistics from the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine association, poultry production in the Ukraine increased by 9% in 2010.
In 2010, Ukrainian production of poultry totaled 1.25 million tonnes in live weight with a meat output equivalent of 965 thousand tonnes. This is approximately 24 kg of chicken per capita.
Ukrainian poultry farmers are relying on the expansion of meat exports in 2011, in particular to Asian countries. Global exports of poultry equate to about 8 million tonnes, of which Brazil and the U.S. account for 3 million tonnes each.
