The Heart of Faunalytics Is You
Though the Season of Giving is coming to a close, we at Faunalytics can’t help but feel a tremendous sense of gratitude all year long. We are a small-but-mighty team that works hard to arm animal advocates with the research and resources they need to be as effective as possible for animals. We’ve accomplished an incredible amount this year, and we must pause and thank those who have made our work possible.
Original Studies
In 2019 Faunalytics completed studies to track attitudes and behavior, gauge the impact of corporate animal welfare commitments on public opinion, and understand which plant-based food labels are most appealing. We also created summary videos for our major studies, and offered hours of pro-bono support to organizations and advocates alike.
Thank you to our research volunteers Julie Burke, Mark Cooper, Paul Fornia, Lindsay Frederick, Erin Galloway, Mona Hussein, Alison Lenton, Susan Macary, Seamus McKinsey, Joe Millum, Matt Montalbano, and Annie Peterson who helped make this possible.
Research Library & Other Resources
We added more than 200 new studies to our comprehensive research library this year, bringing our total to over 4,100 articles. Through our library, we identify new research on important topics, summarize and interpret the results, and highlight the most important data for advocates. We also published more than 50 blogs exploring key topics and strategies, and added new graphic resources about companion animals to our growing Faunalytics Fundamentals series.
Thank you to our library writers and editors Kim Agricola, Stuart Babcock, Gabriel Borden, Stella Child, Rebekah Corbett, Carolin Graszmann, Brenda Harriman, Emily Hatch, Alex Higson, Celine Icard-Stoll, Lukas Jasiunas, Kelley Kite, Jenny Mace, Mark Middleton, Adéla Novotna, Tor Pothecary, Owen Rogers, Mia Rishel, Jeanette Shutay, Sara Streeter, Amy Taylor, Debra Teachout, Linda Tyler, and Mona Zahir who helped make this possible.
Behind The Scenes
Our outward-facing accomplishments are only possible with behind the scenes efforts that ensure our organization is running efficiently and thinking strategically. Behind every successful program are administrative and operational efforts that turn mission statements into reality.
We’d like to thank Miranda Harrington, Megan Iudice, Laura Mulholland, Graeme Ross-Munro, and Bernard Walker for lending their time and talents to Faunalytics, and we’d be remiss not to extend heartfelt gratitude to our board members Anthony Bellotti, Caryn Ginsberg, Sharie Lesniak, and Mandy Weeks for their leadership and dedication to our cause.
Belief In Our Work
To our donors. You make everything we do possible and to say we appreciate your generosity is an understatement. So let us simply say: thank you. We are grateful for every gift, large and small, but we’d like to specifically recognize the following organizations and foundations whose belief in the importance of research and data has sent us soaring to new heights:
Animal Charity Evaluators, ASPCA, Centre for Effective Altruism, Craigslist Charitable Fund, LUSH, Mobius, Park Foundation, VegFund, and dozens of anonymous supporters.
For their in-kind support and discounted services, we’d like to thank Eleo, Mailchimp, Sentience Media, Slack, TechSoup, and We Animals. We’d also like to thank our Animal Tracker sponsors for helping us complete our 12-year longitudinal survey of U.S. adults’ attitudes and behavior with respect to animals and animal advocates.
“Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
Albert Schweitzer
We’ll close out the year with one last thank you: To our fellow advocates. From the grassroots volunteers to the leaders at major organizations, each and every one of you working hard every day for a better future for animals, your dedication is inspiring. Keep up the great work, and we’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
