Food For Thought: We Should Not Serve Animals to Save Animals
This survey by Animal Place looks at the menu policies at animal shelters and sanctuaries across the state of California. This question is particularly important to the Food For Thought campaign, which advocates for animal-friendly menus at events that benefit other animals, as a promotion of ethical consistency. Among other insights, the survey finds that 49% of shelters were either interested in creating, or had their curiosity piqued to create, an animal-friendly menu policy, 78% already have a policy in place or are receptive to creating one, and some shelters have had such a policy for multiple decades.
