A study has found that chickens reared in standard factory farms taste better than those that are raised organically.
According to consumer taste tests conducted by Bristol University, people gave higher ratings for taste and texture properties to the meat from chickens reared in a standard system as opposed to those raised organically.
Higher ratings in texture, juiciness, flavor, and overall preference were given for chickens raised in the standard farming system. Researchers speculate that this might be because intensively farmed birds are eaten at a younger age, and are consequently more tender.
