Opportunity: Philanthropy Intern
Faunalytics is now accepting applications for a summer Philanthropy Intern! This position will play an integral role in supporting our fundraising efforts, ultimately increasing the impact we can make for animals. Organization Overview:
Faunalytics is a nonprofit organization that empowers animal advocates with research, strategies, and messages that maximize their effectiveness in reducing animal suffering. Our work involves maintaining an extensive animal advocacy research library, conducting original research on animal protection topics, and working directly with other nonprofits to ensure they have the insight and information they need to succeed.
Internship Duration & Time Commitment:
This internship will begin on July 1, 2024 and will end on August 30, 2024, with the option to extend the internship through September. Applicants must be able to commit to at least ten hours per week with the organization throughout the duration of the internship.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with our philanthropy team, interns will support fundraising efforts such as:
- Grant writing and editing
- Donation data entry and gift acknowledgements
- Record keeping and acknowledgements for Faunalytics’ online store sales
- Creating promotional materials to increase merchandise sales and peer to peer giving
- Researching international third party donor platforms
- Growing monthly donor program and reengaging lapsed donors
- Donor prospecting research
- Soliciting sponsorships for our annual symposium
- Misc. development and administrative related tasks as they arise
Opportunities:
In addition to gaining tangible fundraising experience, Faunalytics will support your growth:
- Interns will complete Animal Advocacy Careers’ Introduction to Animal Advocacy course while with Faunalytics
- Interns will shadow our Philanthropy Officer’s monthly fundraising meeting with Impactful Animal Advocacy
- Interns interested in growing their writing skills have the option to write 1-2 blogs for Faunalytics
- At the end of the program, interns have the option to have their resume reviewed by Faunalytics’ People & Operations Director, who will provide feedback and advice on how to strengthen their materials as a job seeker
Qualifications:
- Belief in Faunalytics’ mission and animal protection
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Self-driven and able to work remotely
- Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets
- Familiarity with Slack and Asana a plus but not required
- Familiarity with Eleo (donor software) a plus but not required
- Fluency with English is required
Details:
- Reports to: Philanthropy Officer
- Schedule: Part-time (10-20 hours/week, flexible)
- Pay: $21/hour USD
- Location: Remote (time zones that work harmoniously with EST preferred)
