USDA reports on meat consumption for 2010 has found a slight reduction in overall meat consumption in the US.
This short summary of USDA data on per capita meat consumption shows a slight reduction in overall meat consumption in the U.S. in 2010, compared to the previous year.
Researchers find that there was an overall reduction in meat consumption by U.S. adults in 2010. Per capita meat consumption dropped by 1 lb in 2010 to be at 224 lbs per person in 2010. Beef consumption was at its lowest level since at least 1955, the earliest year for which comparable data exists. Pork consumption also fell by 2.2. pounds in 2010 compared to the previous year. Chicken consumption, however, increased.
