According to Betty Crocker’s Facebook survey, veganism is a top trend for alternative diets.

Results of Betty Crocker’s Facebook survey, The Bettty 10: Red Hot Holiday Trends, reveals one new trend is alternative diets, a category which encompasses vegan style eating. Also on the list, more households are baking homemade pet treats for their companion animals.

According to the results of a Facebook survey hosted by the Betty Crocker project, two animal-centered trends made The Betty 10 Red Hot Holiday Trends list. At number eight on the list, vegan style eating appeared as part of “alternative diets go mainstream: hold the gluten, embrace the vegan.” In addition, at number four on the list, more people are including family companion animals in their cooking plans. Cited as “spot at the table: pets are part of the family too,” more consumers are making homemade treats for their companion animals.
