Would You Take A Pay Cut If You Could Bring Your Dog To Work?
A survey conducted by Maris Interiors LLP, office designers and workplace consultants in the United Kingdom, finds that 85% of employees who have dogs would like to bring their dog to work. Many indicate they would be willing to change jobs or take a pay cut in order to do so.
While the majority (85%) of employees who own dogs would like to bring them to work, few (5%) have actually done so. Moreover, 38% of the dog-owning employees questioned said they would consider changing jobs if they could bring their dog to work. Further, in order to bring their dog to work, 16% said they would be willing to give up one week of vacation time and 14% said they would be willing to take a pay cut.
Conversely, many employees still remain opposed to the idea of dogs in the workplace; 68% of the non-dog owning employees surveyed said they would be unhappy to have dogs in the workplace due to concerns including fleas, chewed cables, allergies, and litter training.
