Maho works for Animal Welfare Corporate Partners (AWCP), a non-profit in Japan. She primarily collaborates with influential Japanese companies that handle a large volume of animal products. Her work focuses on encouraging these companies to integrate animal welfare and the procurement of cage-free eggs as key aspects of their corporate governance. This includes developing tailored policies, advising on implementation strategies, and consulting with companies throughout the transition. AWCP is also building a strong network with egg producers to increase the availability of cage-free eggs in the market. Furthermore, she works with ESG-focused institutional investors and various domestic stakeholders to raise awareness of animal welfare as an important social issue. The AWCP team consists of three staff members with a combined total of approximately 25 years of experience in animal welfare advocacy.
