Eilish studied Cultural Anthropology in Wellington, New Zealand and has done media monitoring for various companies and government departments. She became interested in animal welfare as a child after writing a school report about goldfish bowls.
Mia Elliott is a curious, justice-oriented researcher with expertise in education and public policy. In her free time, Mia enjoys traveling, antiquing, spotting wildlife, and discovering plant-based restaurants and recipes.
Matt enjoys learning about food systems and currently focuses on the impact of animal agriculture. He studied Anthropology at Durham University and has since worked in food sustainability, helping businesses and organisations understand the impact of their practices. Matt aims to communicate sustainability in clear, easy-to-understand ways.
Since joining AWI in 2022, Adrienne has focused on establishing protections for farmed animals in domestic and international transport, improving industry-backed welfare standards, and monitoring and strengthening state regulatory oversight of on-farm practices.
Adrienne spent her early career working hands-on with animals—at a companion animal rescue, a veterinary clinic, and a farmed animal sanctuary—where she grew to love and appreciate each animal’s individual personality. Wanting to make broader, systemic changes for animals, she earned her JD magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School and joined AWI after serving as a judicial clerk for two years on the Washington State Court of Appeals.
She is a Colorado native who enjoys biking, hiking, and listening to good music. She also loves cooking delicious vegan food and crafting. Adrienne has a Chihuahua-Muppet mix named Ellis who takes his job supervising the AWI office very seriously.
