According to a survey, the highest number of animal-loving people in Europe are the Greeks, 91% of whom believe they are obliged to protect the rights of animals.
Greek people are among the most religious and animal-loving people in Europe, according to a press release by the Greek Embassy discussing the European Union’s Eurobarometer survey. 91% of Greeks believe that they are “obliged to protect the rights of animals at all costs.”
According to this press release, the most pertinent findings related to Greek citizens include:
- 53% of Greeks believe it is very important over the next decade for the opinions of the people to be taken into greater consideration in government decisions.
- 81% say they believe in God.
- 91% of Greeks believe that “we are obliged to protect the rights of animals at all costs.” This is the highest percentage among the 25 European countries surveyed, followed by the Slovenians with 90%.
