The capital city of Australia, Canberra, is overpopulated with kangaroos. However, a government survey finds that more than 80% of residents believe the wild kangaroos should stay, though another survey found that 17% of area drivers have collided with a kangaroo at least once.

Authorities are now proposing a cull, though most people are opposed to this idea and protests are likely to ensue. Public opinion on the issue will be taken through May 11, 2009.
