For over a decade, Kathrin Plaschnick has been a driving force in the animal welfare movement. She helped establish an international advocacy group in her native Berlin, leading on volunteer coordination, before moving to Australia in 2017 where she has focused on freelance project management and reporting in Asia and Latin America. Hendrik Hassel’s advocacy career started with a three-person-protest against local fur shops in 2009. He co-founded a German branch of an international animal protection NGO, he has authored a book on cultivated meat, and has been part of a leading investigative animal advocacy group. In 2024, Kathrin and Hendrik co-founded Reporters for Animals International.
