Stephen Vrla is a humane educator and animal advocate based in the Detroit metropolitan area. He has a PhD in sociology and education with specializations in animal studies and environmental science and policy from Michigan State University. In addition to his work, he enjoys plant-based cooking, obstacle course racing, and exploring nature with his dog, Hermes.
