Companion Animals As Part Of The Family
This 2002 Ketchum research study shows that more consumers consider their companion animals to be part of their “family,” according to survey results. An estimated 68% of companion animal owners traveled with their companion animals sometime in 2001, which is an increase from 58% in 1995. In addition, nearly 10% of companion animal owners have stayed in a hotel or motel with their companion animals. According to the American Hotel and Lodging Association, in 2001, 41% of hotels and motels allow companion animals, up from 31% in 1998.
